If you are interested in trading the Iraqi Dinar, purchasing them for an investment or just want to speculate and talk about the happenings in Iraq and the functioning government, then I've compiled a small list of the top 10 websites where you can get more Iraqi Dinar information.

Many people are not satisfied with traditional investing any longer because of the instability of the current US stock market, gold coins, the Iraqi Dinar, and other alternative investments to add some stability and diversification to their portfolios. People are also getting involved in Forex trading and making a killing in this market. There are all kinds of investments to put your money in instead of traditional markets. Of course if you know what you are doing, you can also make a killing in the stock market as long as you time it right.

Here's the list of the top Iraqi Dinar speculation and investment websites:

IraqiDinar.org
DinarTrade.com

Since gold is an alternative investment just as the Iraqi Dinar, I thought for a change we'd explain the process of gold extraction just for fun. Gold extraction is a complicated process that consists of many different methods of acquiring gold from mines. Upon mining, gold is generally sold for a cost that is relevant to its content, weight and purity, making the easiest type of mining for “free” gold, or gold that is not attached to rocks.

Free gold is affordable, because there isn’t a lot of expense put into production, making it much easier for miners and mining companies to get their money’s worth from free gold than from gold that has to be extracted from rocks and walls of a mine and from the ore found in the mine.

“Free” gold is extracted very simply from piles of dirt and rocks, using the simple concept of gravity. If you take a pile of dirt, and run it through a water bath on a screen, the dirt will seep through the screen, leaving the gold and other large rocks left behind on the top of the screen. Gravity plays a large role in getting gold nuggets out of dirt and rocks, because gold is denser than most rocks. This is the way that gold was mined by early miners, and this process is still useful today.

In a later post we will discuss the process of extracting gold from ore and cyanide leaching.

Think trading on the New York Stock Exchange is risky in its 2 to 3 year roller coaster ride? Try investing with the Iraqi Stock Exchange. Back earlier this year trading sessions were routinely canceled for suicide bombing threats (employees can't get to work when the city is locked down in these kind of events) and other simple things like lack of electrical power because of Baghdad's intermittent grid.

The Iraq Stock Exchange opened in June 2004 after replacing the Baghdad Stock Exchange being in place since before the 2003 invasion of Iraq by coalition forces. In 2004 the ISX opened with 15 companies being represented and at the present time there are now more than 100 companies on the exchange. When the exchange opened in 2004, trading was done th eold fashioned was, with pen and paper and traders yelling trades across the floor where brokers then wrote on whiteboards the current price of a company's stock.

Fortunately in February of 2009 that all changed and a computerized system of keeping track of trades, but not electronic trading itself, was put in place. On April 19, 2009 electronic trading was put into place and there are currently only 5 stocks available to be traded that way with more being added in the next several months.

The Iraqi Stock Exchange is small compared to the NYSE as in 2006 there were only 92 trading sessions held trading a total of 58 billion shares. The trades had a total value of 146 billion Iraqi Dinars or $146 million USD and were actually 38,000 individual trades made. Currently the trading floor is only open 6 hours a week.

There you have a simple run down of the ISX as a fledgling market. The market is currently dominated by very wealthy Iraqis and the trades are called in from outside the country. Is it worth your time to invest in this kind of market? Maybe you should just buy Iraqi dinars on eBay and hope they will go up some day.

A lot of people, maybe even you, are looking to invest inthe Iraqi Dinar, but they aren't sure just where to purchase dinar. There are some dinar scams out there on the internet such as dealers selling the old dinar and not the new one which replaced the old one in January of 2004.

You must be careful when you buy the dinar and make sure that you get the new Iraqi Dinar and not the old one. While a few examples of the old dinar may hold some numismatic value, they are no longer accepted as a legal currency in Iraq. Therefore, if someone trys to sell you the old dinar as a good investment, please don't waste your money because they are worthless as an exchange for goods in the country.

There are several places you can purchase dinar and one of the more popular places is eBay. At any one time there are usually several hundred auctions for the Iraqi dinar on eBay. Of course, you always must be careful when doing business on eBay to make sure you are not being scammed. However, If you know what you're doing you will more than likely always end up with a good deal.

The trick when purchasing the dinar, or anything for that matter, is to just make sure you read the sellers feedback that you are thinking of doing business with. Just because someone has a negative feedback doesn't necessaily mean they are a bad seller because sometimes there are bad buyers. If you read the individual feedback it will tell you what's up. But if you do find too many negatives, it's probably not a good idea to do business with that person.

You can slo buy Iraqi dinar from dealers across the nation, but here again, you must be sure of who you are dealing with and what you are buying so you don't end up with something you didn't want. At the present time banks and other financial institutions are not exchanging the Iraq dinar, it must be sold to private buyers or through eBay.

If you are interested and want to own the dinar Iraqi dinar as an investment, you can purchase dinar here.

Some of those individuals and investors who are interested in investing in the Iraqi dinar are also interested in the dinar for the short term. Forex currency traders buy and sell foreign currencies many times daily and make their money on the very small changes (known as PIPS) in the daily rate of exchange between one currency and another.

Anyone can enter into trading Forex as long as you know what you are doing. It is a huge market and trades what is extimated to be almost $4 trillion in currencies every day. There is plenty of room for small FX traders and large traders who handle millions of dollars in currencies daily, but it is not for the faint of heart, you must know what you are doing so you can make a profit or you may lose your shirt.

Because of the complicated nature of the Foreign Exchange Market there is a lot of automated Forex trading software on the market to help people make thir trades and keep track of their currencies. What some of these forex programs do is automatically trade for you. All you have to do is set up the software with your own parameters and the automated trading robots do all the work for you and hopefully you will profit.

Because of the sheer numbers of currencies such as the Iraqi Dinar and the incredible amount of volume that is traded every day, you do need some kind of a program to help you keep track of what you are doing and to identify potential trades that can make you money. There's astandard trading software known as the MetaTrader 4 platform available from most Forex brokers, but on top of that many people like these automated Forex Robots for to take the hassle out of currency exchange.

There are several Forex trading robots on the market including No Loss Robot, Forex Megadroid, IvyBot, Forex Rebellion, Forex Godfather and the most popular one, FAP Turbo. FAP Turbo outsells all other trading robots and even the next closest one by almost 3 times the volume. There must be some reason for that.

FAP Turbo Review

The main reason people add FAP Turbo to their trading arsenal is because they want a piece of software that will do their Forex trading for them without having to understand everything there is to know about the market. There is all sorts of technical analysis, charting, global news and lots of other data that many people just don't have time to sift through.

The great thing about the Forex Market that is different than the DOW stock market is that it is open 24 hours a day except on weekends. FAP Turbo is designed to work on your computer 24/7 the full time the markets are open. If you can't keep yout PC on all the time, some people recommend getting a VPS server to host your Forex software so it can trade all the time for you.

You don't need any previous knowledge of the Forex market to trade with FAP Turbo. All you have to do is download it, install it and it does all the work for you. Of course any knowledge you have of trading currencies is always helpful. The creators of FAP Turbo claim that the software is capable of doubling your money ever single month. While that may or may not be true, it is important to check it out for yourself before you start trading real money.

Fortunately, you can open up dummy accounts with most traders and install the MataTrader 4 platform on your computer, download and plug-in FAP Turbo to the main platform and go about trading with make believe money until you are comfortable with how the systems work. Once you are comfortable with how everything works, then and only then do you start trading with your own real money.

If you are interested in Forex Trading the Iraqi Dinar and any other currency, you should consider checking out FAP Turbo to see if it can make the job easier for you.

The currently running Central Bank Of Iraq was established in 2004 and at the time funded with a capital of 100 billion dinars. As of the end of 2006 the bank had total assets valued at 33 trillion dinar which is about $28.5 billion in US currency.

The main objective of the Bank Of Iraq is to try and maintain domestic price stability and a completive market, a difficult task in a war torn country with black markets and other price and economic forces not under their control. The CBI is also to formulate and implement monetary policy including the currency exchange rate for the Iraqi Dinar.

The CBI is also to hold Iraqi gold and manage the reserves of gold for the country as well as issue and manage currency.

World's Largest Bank Robbery

The day before the United States and coalition forces began their invasion of Iraq, Saddam Hussein essentially robbed the Central Bank of Iraq of nearly $1 billion making this the largest bank robbery in history. More than $650 million of those dollars were eventually recovered by troops finding them hidden in the walls of Hussein's palaces. The other roughly $250 to $300 million was never found and claimed to be stolen by thieves other than Saddam Hussein and his sons.

A note was later found signed by Saddam himself ordering the withdrawal of $920 million from the bank. Funny how in times of great crisis national leaders think they own everything in the country.

At the current time the banking and financial situation in Iraq appear to be fairly stable. If a lasting peace does in fact happen in Iraq the value of the dinar will certainly climb and allow those who have bought Iraqi dinar to cash in on their investments.

For your convenience we've installed a widget so you can get the current Iraqi Dinar exchange rate and be up on what the value of the Iraq Dinar is at any moment. The chart, or widget, is updated every single minute so unlike many charts, you don't have to wait 24 hours or even to the next hour to see what the price is.

Whether you are investing and looking to stock up on Dinar in the hopes that some day it will get to a place where you can cash all your stash in and make a bundle, or you are just looking for something to have as a souvenir, the chart will help you decide when to buy and what price to pay.

The chart is also helpful if you are involved in Iraqi dinar forex currency exchange since it is updated every 30 minutes. If you are making forex trades it is obviously important that you have current information to make sound financial buying decisions.

The chart shows 1 IQD (the symbol for the Iraqi Dinar) equals however many US dollars. The rate is usually around .0086 American dollars, but does fluctuate a little bit. However, if we return to peace in Iraq anytime soon, the rate of the dinar will soar and those holding on to thousands or hundreds of thousands of them will be rich.

The new Iraqi dinar, which goes by the symbol NID, officially went into effect on October 15, 2003 and completely replaced the dinar on January 15, 2004 that had been used since April of 1932 when it replaced the Indian Rupee. For a short time the dinar was linked to the gold standard but later it was linked to the pound Sterling.

When the new Iraqi dinar Iraqi citizens were given 3 months to turn in the old dinars to be replaced by newer ones. Prior to Iraq's currency being unified, there were actually 2 different kinds or dinar circulating in the country. Before the first Gulf War and the resulting economic blockade of the country, Swiss printing equipment was available and banknotes were of very high quality, but during the blockade the high quality equipment was no longer available and neither were replacement parts. Consequently alternative printing presses had to be configured to print the bills that ended up being of inferior quality, but none the less still adequate for monetary exchange.

These secondary dinars printed after the economic blockade were known as Saddam Dinar and circulated in the southern part of the country. After the January 15th 2004 deadline for citizens to turn in their old dinars, only the new Iraqi dinars were officially used as a monetary exchange. Obviously not everyone complied with the replacement immediately and the old dinar was used for exchange well past the cut off date. And of course these older dinar were sought ofter by collectors and those interested in memorabilia left over from the time of the reign of Saddam Hussein .

Other sought after and very collectible dinars are those that are known as King Faisal dinars. These are quite rare and highly sought after by collectors and can be found in limited quantities on eBay and from private collectors.

The Dinar is the national currency of Iraq and many people are looking to buy Iraq Dinar as an investment vehicle to add to their portfolios. But why, with all the turmoil in Iraq and the constant threat of violence, would anyone want to buy the dinar?

That's a good question, and here's a good answer. Back in the early 1970's the Iraqi dinar was actually more valuable than the US dollar. That is correct, even though today's Iraq exchange rate is somewhere around 1,150 dinar per American dollar. In the 1970's the dinar was valued at approximately $3.75 US dollars when Iraq was stable. And right there is your clue as to why someone would invest in this financial vehicle today.

Even though Iraq is a dangerous place today and under the regime of Saddam Hussein, it wasn't always and someday that peace will return to Iraq. The war and hostilities can't go on forever and those investing in Iraqi dinar are betting that will happen someday soon.

You can get 250,000 dinar for around $300 to $340 and one million dinar for around $950 to $1,000 on eBay right now. Some sellers will charge you shipping and some will give you free shipping if you buy enough of the currency. Of course, there are also plenty of smaller denominations for sale as well because some people aren't investing, they are only collecting or buying it as a novelty or gift for someone else. Investors will of course want to buy larger denomination bills to get more overall currency.

When doing business with anyone, especially on eBay, make sure to check their feedback status and only deal with sellers that have very high feedback ratings so as to protect yourself.

Lots of people are talking about the Iraqi Dinar, the national currency of Iraq as a tool for investment, but is it something you should consider as an investment for yourself, or is it something that's just being sold as a pipe dream for unwary investors?

Some Facts About The Iraqi Dinar

The Dinar has been in circulation in Iraq since its creation in 1923 when it replaced the Indian Rupee since Britain occupied the nation in World War 1. The currency was based on the British Pound up through 1959 when it was switched to be based on the United States dollar and equal to 1 dinar = 2.8 US dollars. In 1973 the dinar rose in value and was equal to 3.38 American dollars.

Then came the first Gulf War and the economic blockade and due to the technology no longer being available to print quality currency, an inferior note was printed and the government had to print excessive dinars causing the currency to be quickly devalued. The dinar was then equal to 3,000 per US dollar. Between October 2003 and January 2004 the new Iraqi Dinar was issued by the Coalition Provisional Authority and the exchange rate specified by the International Monetary Fund was set at 1170 dinars for every American dollar.

Unfortunately there is not an agreed upon International exchange rate and international banks do not exchange the dinar as of yet, but as of April 2006 the exchange rate on the streets has been 1,500 dinar for every US dollar. But at the writing of this post the exchange rate is 1,156.50 Iraqi Dinar per US dollar.

Many people are speculating on the value of the Dinar and investing in it because of the possibility that should it return some day to the value of 3 to 4 US dollars for every dinar, those holding hundreds of thousands of dinar would become very, very rich. Lots of places can be found to be selling the Iraq currency such as eBay, dealers, hobbyists, private investors and many other people hoping to make a buck or to try on cash in on slight variations in the exchange rate.

Should you invest in the dinar? Should you buy gold coins? That's not a question we can answer, all we can do is give you the information we find and you will have to make that decision on your own. If however, peace someday returns to Iraq, the value of the Dinar will surley increase, and those holding a large cache of these notes, will be wealthy. Maybe one of those people will be you.
