The other thing that would be sensible to do is to just open a savings account with an Iraqi bank and have it held inm Dinar. That way, you have almost instant liquidity and my account earns 7% interest annually as well as the increase if the exchange rate is favorable.

I bought 5,000 iraq dinar several years ago, cannot find rate of exchange, or what bank will exchange my 5,000 investment

Bank do deal in currency exchange it just depends on the bank the have a buy and sell rate. The sell rate is usually higher than the buy rate.

I don’t really know about banks in San Francisco exchanging dinars because i live in Florida. But it is my understanding that banks don’t do this because there isn’t an internationally established exchange rate yet. Your best bet is to either find a local dealer or to sell them on eBay.

I and another investor have purchased Iraqui Dinar and because of the banks
not trading in it, my partner is concerned about its lack of liquidity. Are there
any banks in San Francisco or San Jose that we could exchange dinar for dollars
at this time?
